Calida Gaming is so excited as the USA is catching up with online gaming opportunities and land casinos like Pennsylvania are thriving though a pity that Atlantic City continues to decline.  

The Wall Street Journal speculators, have foretold this Tuesday that the Pennsylvania’s rising gaming industry will soon overtake Atlantic City next year as the nation’s second-largest casino market, now that is a sure sign that the gaming industry is growing.

Pennsylvania casinos 10 in total have been growing drastically taking in 2.5 billion in revenue in 2010, while Atlantic citys (11 casinos) gaming revenue has dropped 30 percent since its peak in 2006 at $5.2 billion.

As Atlantic City continues its downfall, it would be almost certain that Pennsylvania will become the next $3 billion casino market and should over take New Jersey for the nation’s No. 2  casino spot in gaming revenue behind Nevada off cause Viva Las Vegas.

“Pennsylvania gaming, sometime next year, will most likely be bigger than Atlantic City,” Andrew Zarnett, the managing director of Deutsche Bank, had said during the panel discussion at the Pennsylvania Gaming Congress.

Atlantic City will continue to struggle, the competition has overwhelmed the Mid- Atlantic gaming market, considering the opening later this year of a new slots parlor at New York’s Aqueduct racetrack.

Will the opening of next years $2.4 billion Revel casino be enough to reverse Atlantic City’s slide?  “I think Atlantic City will fight back a little bit with the opening of Revel,” said Christopher Jones, a director at Telsey Advisory Group.

However, Zarnett concluded that Revel will NOT expand the market overall. He warned that Revel may eat alive a large piece of the marketplace from the existing casinos.

“That is not success for Atlantic City,” Zarnett said.

His main issue is that people are afraid to play in Atlantic City due to the amount of crime affecting the area first we need to tackle this ignorance if you want any progress in Atlantic City. Like with land and online Casinos people want to play safe and this is the main reason that we here at Calida gaming are trying to portray daily.
